Prof.K.S. Krishnamurti (KSK) whose full name is Kuthur Subbarayaiyer Krishnamurti, the inventor/discoverer of this astrological system. It is unique, scientific, part of Vedic astrology and mathematical study and evolution without short cuts; after great and considerable period of struggle in modern era and he is known as “Adhunik Varamihira”. The predictions given will be the same for any astrologer with the same horoscope as well timing of the event which is simple, accurate and scientific.
i) History of KP:
KSK birth particulars are DOB: Sunday1-11-1908, TOB: 12.11pm and POB: Thiruvariyaru, Chennai, Sravana Nakshatra (Kanya rasi)) and Makar Lagna and date of expiry were at 2 am on 30-3-1972. After education from St. Joseph College, Tiruchirapalli entered into service at the King Institute, Guindy, Chennai in Public Health Dept., Tamilnadu on 14-7-1927. He had fascination, dedication eagerness and sincerity for the study of Astrology and studied both Parasara and Western systems from 1927 to 1934. He certainly analysed for failure of predictions as well as timing of events and caused dissatisfaction on the results of Astrology, during 1934-46. From 1939 with two assistants carried out research and developed the concept of Sub-lord Theory basing on Satya Nadi finally in 1951. He received Uchchistha Maha Ganapathi through Jagadguru Shankaracharya and consequently KSK attained his goal. He got great inspiration and urge to teach and propagate KP system to eager students, who need not become professional astrologers for earning sake; till 1961. He retired from service voluntarily on19-9-1961. From 20-3-1963 ‘Astrology & Athristha’, KP Ephemeris for the years 1911-1970 and 6 KP Readers were published and Prof. KSK was awarded 2 titles- a) Jyothish Marthand and b) Sothida Mannan for his astrological yeoman services.
ii) KP System:
KP system invented by KSK is only Parasara modified to the present modern period applying certain aspects of Western Astrology, like- cusps, Fortuna and Western aspects; thereby one could be able to give predictions and timing of event accurately. Apart from taking the Western concepts, as stated above, KSK discovered Sub-lord, Ruling planets, Significators Table, special role to the nodes and Horary No. 1-249 chart for answering the question astrology. There are no sub-divisional charts, including Navamsa and only birth chart is available for analysis purpose and Dasa considered only Vimsothari/Udu of 120 years duration for timing of the event. He took the concept of Dhruva Nadi which was the basis for Meenas-1 & 2 (who developed Stellar Astrology) for evolution of Sub-lord.
iii) Dhruva Naadi (Meenas) concept:
A zodiac is divided into 12 rasis of 3600 and therefore each rasi is 300, consisting of 9 parts/Padas each part being 30s20 constituting 21/4 stars in each rasi. Thus a rasi was divided into 2 stars and one pada, as each star has 4 padas. Each star has lord and lord of each star is known as Star Lord. This Predictive Stellar Astrology was developed in 1936, by Late R.Gopala Krishna Rao and NV Raghavachary known as Meena-1&2 respectively. Sri NVR Raja (Meena-2 Jr.), Chairman, JKR Astro Research Foundation, Hyderabad is propagating presently this system. KSK extended this concept to all the 27 stars in the zodiac and each star of 13020 divided into 9 parts/division of 30 in a star is known as SUB LORD. These 9 parts i.e. Sub lords will be in the order and proportion of Vimsothari Dasa and first part starting with the same lord. Thus in a KP chart we have Cusp/Bhava Lord (i.e., Sign lord where a cusp/Planet), Star lord and Sub lord. Similarly, sub-sub lords.
iv) Ruling Planets (RP):
Those planets, which are ruling at the time of query and contribute for the fructification of the event, are called Ruling Planets. This is the important extract for horoscopes judgement and they are nine in the descending order (from the powerful to the least) – Lagna Sub-lord, Lagna Star lord, Lagna Sign lord; Moon sub-lord; Moon star lord and Moon sign lord and lastly Day Lord. KSK has taken only seven RPs, excluding Lagna & Moon Sub-lords.
Note: 1. If any of the planets which strongly aspects or conjoins the nine ruling planets it can also be included in the RPs.
2. If any of the RPs is retrograde or posited either in the star or sub of a retrograde planet, reject that planet during the period of retrogression and accept the remaining.
RPs Rules are– i. The ruling planets at the time of sitting for judgement are the same to that of the horary time, ii. The RPs at the time of the fructification of the event is the same to that of the birth time/horary time. The presence of RPs is to be same but not the order.
Application of RPs: The RPs have a definite role in i. fructification of event by finding the common planets between the fruitful significators of an event and RPs during their conjoined period.
ii. To verify the correctness of chart by verifying the RPs of a chart with that of arrival time of the consultant.
iii. Rectification of birth time. Of all the methods of rectification of birth time the most important one is –If anything occurs to a native like accidents, marriage, first birth of child , death of parents etc. native’s lagna’s Sign, Star and Sub lords will be the sub lords of the concerned cusps at the time of occurrence.
A) Significators Table:
A planet will become significator to a house occupied by its star lord and houses owned by the star lord. The tenant planet is known as significator and indicates such matters depending on the su-portion of the star occupied by the tenant. Significator gives the result of its star lord and so it becomes the indicator of the matters of the house occupied, owned and aspected by it and sub lord decides regarding that matters of the star lord. A planet is said to be a significator of a particular house when it has capability of offering result of that house due to its stellar and positional status which will be low, medium and high category. Significators are the sources for events and used for timing of event. A planet which is placed closer to cusp/Bhava, even if it was behind the cusp and becomes Bhava lord or planet in the constellation of Bhava lord, it will be the significator of the above cusp which is in front of it.
Note: The cuspal S/L of a Bhava itself qualifies as significator of that bhava in the absence of planets in its stars, even if S/L negates the bhava.
The following are the significators of a Bhava in the order of the strength:
i. Planet in the constellation of the occupant of the Bhava (Strongest).
ii. The occupant of the Bhava.
iii. The planet in the constellation of the Bhava Lord.
iv. The Bhava Lord.
v. The planets conjoined with the above significators and aspecting the cusp and the planets therein.
Note: 1. The nodes are to be included as significators if they are conjoined /aspected /tenanted in the house of significators. 2. Where there are 2 or more planets in i to iii above, the entire planets share in the fructification of the event according to their strength.
Selection of fruitful significators: The prediction will be accurate basing on the selection of fruitful and rejecting tempter (false) significators. Selection will be made amongst them either on selective basis in the order of strength or by eliminating the tempters/weak significators:
i. If a planet is connected with the concerned Bhavas and becomes significator of the relevant houses and if also posited in the subs of any of the significators of the concerned houses, then the planet gives more dependable results.
ii. If any planet is posited in his own sub it is stronger planet.
iii. If S/L is in beneficial aspect with constellation lord.
iv. If S/L of any event is c/w further 2 cusps of the same event success without failure.
v. A significator is weak if it signifies Trik 6/8/12 cusps, their constellation or sub lords as well as Trik houses of the bhava under consideration. It becomes weak if star and sub lords become weak and more so if S/L is also weak.
B) Role of Nodes:
Rahu and Ketu, the nodes were allotted special roles in KP system prediction. They are considered as direct and move in opposite direction. Rahu and Ketu represent the planets in the order of priority- the planets that conjoin, aspect, its star and sign lords. In other words, the nodes represent the planets in this order if those planets are not the significators concerned. Similarly, if nodes do not come under the significators, these planets represent Rahu or Ketu accordingly.
C) Aspects and conjunctions:
An aspect is the angular distance of celestial longitude between two points in the zodiac, between two planets or one planet and a rasi. Two or more planets in the same rasi are known as conjunction. Aspect and conjunction are more powerful within the orb of 8o and will be from sign to sign. Western aspects were preferred for effective results compared to Parasara aspects by KSK.
iii. Judgement: A. Punarphoo If in a chart there is a connection between Saturn and Moon for a relevant Bhava then that particular Bhava result will be abnormally delayed with obstructions and frustrations. Saturn will have more adverse effect being the slow moving planet.
B) Improving houses: 1, 2, 3,6,10 & 11 houses are improving houses to the native and the remaining houses are improving houses for 7th Bhava/opposite party. The more connections to a particular Bhava with improving houses the more powerful and favourable result for the concerned Bhava.
C) Rules Bhava/Cusp lord i.e. the sign in which the cusp is placed that sign lord is the source/agent of that Bhava, Cuspal star lord gives the nature of result and Cuspal sub lord gives the result of the house more predominantly and essential for minute prediction.
In Stellar Astrology a planet deposited in a particular star gives the results of the lord of the star and acts as an agent of the star lord. A planet transiting in a sign is the source of the event, the lord of the star in which the planet is transiting signifies the nature of the event according to its nature, occupation and lordship, while at the same time the sub lord decides whether the event is favourable or not according to its lordship.
Significators of an event if connected with positive and negative houses, positive and negative results will prevail.
Note: i. A planet gives the results singly according to its nature. If it conjoins with another planet or aspected by another planet gives combined results according to their nature. Also when a planet is posited in a star the planet gives the nature of the star lord accordingly.
ii. Whenever, Sub Lord is referred, if it .is not directly connected with the concerned cusp, then the lord of the star in which the sub lord is posited if connected with the relevant cusp then also the result can be taken.
iii. If the sub lord or star lord is not connected with the relevant cusps, then the nodes representations are to be taken.
6. Example horoscope for analysis: DOB: 14-6-1940, TOB: 22.20hrs. Long82-01, Lat 16-30, Sun 60-31, Moon 171-53, Mars 85-07, Mer 83-18, Jup 13-24,Ven 78-39®, Sat 17-34,Ra 173- 51& Ke 353-51. Cusps: I 297-34, II 333-54, III 7-42, IV 46-37, V 62-23, VI 88-10, VII 117-34, VIII 153-54,IX 187-42, X 6-37, XI 242-23 & XII 268-10. Moon Dasa Balance at birth: 1yr 1m 0d.
i) Longevity: Rule: 1CS/L c/w 1,5,9 long life, 6,8,12 short life and middle life 6,8,or 12 and short life 1/5/9 . In this chart, I CS/L Jup c/w 5, 9& 11cusps hence long life (Above 75 yrs). Jup is in Star/Sub of Ven/Ven c/w 4, 5, 9 & 8. Jup conjoined with Mars and Mer who are c/w 2,6,11 & 12 and5, 11 & 12. The native will have minor ailments and cure, having Long life.
ii) Education: Rule 4,9 & 11 cusps. In the chart 4 CS/L Mer c/w 6,8,11 &12.So basic education successful after initial difficulties. 9 CS/L Ra c/w 6,8 &11 and Jup Edn.Karaka c/w 4,9,11 & 12 so, higher education completes successfully after failures and sudden obstacles.
Note: For longevity determination umpteen combinations are there in traditional system whereas in KP it is simple.
7. Further research after Prof KSK: Prof KSK could not do research on Sub-sub level, even though he desired because of cruel fate of death and subsequently carried by his followers. Similarly, Horary Nos.1 – 249 (sub level) gone to sub-sub level of Nos.1 – 2193. In predictive part of KP system three different systems were evolved and they are:
i. Sub Sub lord Theory (Multi Stellar System MST) by Dr.Kar:
F1 – Planet A is in the star of B.
F2 – Planets A & B in the star of C.
F3 – Planet A in the sub or sub sub of B, B in the star of C.
F4 -Planet A in the sub or sub sub of B, B is in the star of C and C is in the star of D.
ii. 4 Step theory developed in Maharashtra by Mr. Jyotindra Hasbe and Sri Sunil Gondhalekar, Thana: KP Principle
The Basic principle of KP is that A Planet gives the results indicated by its Star Lord and Sub Lord.
THE FOUR STEPS TO DETERMINE HOUSES SIGNIFIED BY ANY PLANET ARE:
1. The Planet itself (House residence, Houses Owned)
2. The Star Lord of the Planet: (Same house resident, houses owned)
3. The SUB LORD of the Planet:
4. The Star Lord of this sub lord:
For prediction, we have to consider that all houses, are signified by the Planet, some primarily, and some secondarily.
First Step
THE 1ST STEP in the 4 step Theory is: A Planet becomes the Significator of the HOUSE where it resides, and of the House/Houses It OWNS
This rule is modified depending on whether there are other planets in the STARS of this Planet, and whether the Houses owned are Empty or have some other planets in them. (Hers, Neptune, Pluto, for are not considered for this conditions.
IF THERE ARE NO PLANETS IN THE STARS OF THE PLANET,(the planet is not the Star Lord of any other planet) THEN it becomes THE PRINCIPAL Significator of the House where it Resides. Otherwise, it becomes a secondary Significator of the House where it resides.
If a PLANET Is Primary significator of Residence, then it becomes the Principal of the houses owned ONLY IF THAT HOUSE IS EMPTY, otherwise it is the secondary significator of the house owned
If the Planet is itself a SECONDARY significator of House of RESIDENCE then it will be also Secondary Significator of Houses owned EVEN IT EMPTY.
IF A PLANET IS IN ITS OWN STAR, then it automatically becomes the Primary significator of the House of residence (even if there other planets in its stars). It becomes principal significator of houses it owns, if empty.
SECOND STEP: The Star LORD OF THE PLANET UNDER CONSIDERATION
In this step, the STAR LORD automatically Becomes the Principal Significator of the House of Residence, and Of the Houses owned, if Empty.
FOR RAHU AND KETU same rules apply. Rahu/Ketu gets additional representation as Representative of the Lord of house where they reside.
THIRD STEP: The sub Lord of the Planet:
The houses signified are determined as per 1st step only
Fourth step: The Star Lord of Sub Lord
The houses are found applying the same rules as Second Step
Another point is to consider Signifcators by conjunction (3.33 deg) between planets, as also signified by the planet considered. The conjoined planet acts as an agent of the planet to which it is conjoined.
iii. Sri Punit Pandey summarized KP System in five principles-
1. A planet other than its own also gives its star lords’ results.
2. Twelfth house from any Bhava negate the results of that house.
3. Results of an event are decided by a group of houses.
4. Sub Lord of a planet qualify the results of that planet.
5. Cuspal Sub Lord tells whether the event is promised or not.
Long live Krishnamurti Padhdhati
Good luck..!!
Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) is the advanced version of Traditional/ Vedic astrology having more accuracy and less rules.
There are following major differences as known:
1. Distribution of Cusps is done as per Placidus System in KP and Traditional / Vedic follows house to house system i.e. Sripati Paddhati.
2. Start of the Cusp is taken as Start point in KP and it is taken as Mid-point in Traditional / Vedic.
3. Aspects are taken degree wise and they are applicable as per orb of individual planet in KP. Traditional / Vedic astrology follows cusp to cusp Aspects.
4. Duration of Year of 365.25 days taken in KP but Traditional / Vedic takes it as 360 for easy calculations.
5. Less rules but Traditional / Vedic have lots of rules and books to get accurate prediction.
6. Logical and traditional has lost the accuracy of predictions because of missed data.
7. Ayanansha plays a major role in accuracy KP has its own and single ayanansha but Traditional / Vedic has lots of ayanansha provided by so many astrologers. Each Ayanansha gives the different values to Planets and Cusps.
8. Understandability One can learn KP in very few months but one cannot learn full traditional astrology in his life.
9. Accuracy Traditional / Vedic astrology cannot pin point the time of frutification but KP can tell the exact time of frutification of the event.
10. House of Father KP treat 9th Cusp as the House of Father and 10th Cusp for social status/carrier but Traditional/ Vedic take 10th Cusp for Father/social status/carrier.
11. Basics KP follows the rules given by sage Parashar for Vimshottari Dasha/Moon. KP has divided each planet and cusp Sign (Dasha) into Bhukti, Bhukti into Antar and Antar into Pratyantar in the same ratio as done by sage Parashar in Vimshottari Dasha. It gives the more accuracy but Traditional / Vedic does not follows so.
12. Navamansha Traditional / Vedic follows Navamansha of Moon Sign only but KP follows navamansha of Nakshatra of each Planet and Cusp.
13. Fortuna KP introduced a new fast moving point which can differentiate between two early births as twins, it is known as Fortuna.
14. Mercury Combustion KP says that Mercury never Combust from Sun.
15. Shri K. S. Krishnamurti also provided in his KP astrology a new tool called as the Ruling Planets (RP). These RP act as a divine guidance when the astrologer needs some clarification or confirmation on certain issues that may be impeding him to arrive at a final judgment. These ruling planets are a master key in the technique of KP and one has to become an adept at using these if one wishes to master this system of astrology. The use of RP in applied prediction is multifarious and infinite. The credit of the concept and its utility is solely attributable to the inventor of this system of astrology’Sri K. S. Krishnamurti.
16. Along with RP, Sri K.S. Krishnamurti also provided us with a set of sub numbers from 1 to 249. This set of 1-249 sub numbers has proved to be a very effective tool for analysis of horary or Prashna charts where certain specific queries are to be answered or where the birth time of the native is not known. To satisfy the curiosity of the readers at this point let us briefly say what this 1-249 sub numbers is. These sub numbers are basically the sub-divisions (and therefore, called as ‘subs’) of each of the 27 star of the zodiac in the proportion of the Vimsottari Dasa system. Traditional astrology however, has no such divisions of the stars of the zodiac.
Good Luck..!!
The utility of any science, whether it is astrology or any other subject, lays in the fact what the society in general gets benefit of it. If any subject ceases to yield benefic results to society it becomes obsolete in due course of time. Time is an important factor in astrology. In fact astrology cannot be imagined without time. Therefore, is some sacred texts time is declared to be God. Horary astrology has greater utility than natal astrology in today’s fast changing world.
Originally in India asking specific questions to an astrologer to get a pinpoint prediction was known as “Prashna Jyotisha” (literally meaning ‘Question astrology’). In western astrological thoughts the word ‘horary’ has its roots in the word ‘hour’. Quite astonishingly, in India the word “hora” also means hour that comprises a complete day and night-‘Aho-ratra’.
Horary astrology is an ancient branch of astrology by which as astrologer attempts to answer a question by constructing a horoscope for the exact time and place at which the question was asked. The answer might be a simple yes or no, but is generally more complex with insights into, for example, the motives of the questioner, the motives of others involved in the matter, and the options available to him. It has been practiced for centuries in India known as Prashna Shastra. It is a branch of Vedic astrology which is still widely used across the Indian subcontinent. The more advanced form is the Astamangalam Prashna and Deva Prashna methods of Kerala. The state of Kerala, in India, is famous even today for its traditional use of horary astrology.
The English astrologer William Lilly (1602-81) was the last major horary astrologer, and probably the best-known horary practitioner in history. His book Christian Astrology is in print and widely used in the modern day practice of horary astrology. Today, horary astrology is still used much more in United Kingdom, with medium popularity remaining in America, Germany, France and other Western European nations.
Therefore, there is a clear difference in approach and technique as far as the Western system of horary is concerned vis-a-vis the Indian system of horary or Prashna astrology. Even within the Indian system of horary astrology, there is a great divide between the traditional Hindu/Vedic system of horary as enunciated in Prashna Marga text and Prashna Tantra.
Horary astrology works on certain proved principles. The sifgnifications of planets and houses can be easily ascertained. There are many significations of planets and houses but the particular signification of a particular planet or house is only known with the help of horary astrology.
Pinpoint prediction devoid of double meaning sense could be possible only in horary astrology. In horary astrology the answer is given either in Yes or No. Whereas horary astrology gives the exact date and time for the fructification of any event, it is quite hard to possible in natal astrology.
Day-to-day events like arrival of a friend, light going or coming back, rumour false or true, reservation of berth in train possible or not, love affairs would materialize or not, etc., can be answered only by the horary astrology.
Horary astrology has greater utility when question pertaining to winning or losing of three or four persons who are in election fray comes up. It deals effectively with such questions. Horary astrology is also helpful in deciding bride and bridegroom among the list. It not only clearly and effectively decided but also gives precise judgment about the character and nature of bride and bridegroom.
So, simply speaking, horary astrology is a form of astrology where specific questions are answered based on the horoscope created at the time when the question is asked or it is solved by the astrologer. The chart will be casted on the date, time and place of the astrologer.
KPDP Marriage Matching Rules
The Krishnamurthi Padhdhathi Dasavida Prorutham (KPDP) rules for matching of horo-scopes for marriage, framed by Shri K.P. Kuppu Ganapathi, cover 10 matching criteria which are to check as follows:
KPDP No. 1: Characteristic compatibility
Ascendant sub lords in the charts of the boy and the girl should be natural friends or equals, and should not be natural enemies.
KPDP No. 2: Harmony in married life
Ascendant sub lords and the 7th cusp sub lords in the respective charts of the boy and the girl should be should be natural friends or equals, and should not be natural enemies.
KPDP No. 3: Attitudes and urges
The Ascendant signs of the boy and the girl should be compatible, i.e., fire and fire, water and water, fire and air, water and earth, and air and water.
KPDP No. 4: General happiness
Work out the aspects under the Western system of aspects taking into account the pre-scribed orbs of the planets, between the Ascendant sign lords of the boy and the girl in their respective charts. They should form favourable aspects – otherwise no marks to be awarded.
KPDP No. 5: Mutual understanding between the couples
i. Work out the aspects formed (by taking into account the orb of the respective planets) between the 7th cusp sub lords of the boy and the girl, in their respective charts.
ii. See where the 7th cusp sub lord in the girl’s chart is occupying in her chart. Similarly find out the placement of the 7th cusp sub lord in the boy’s chart and work out the as-pect formed between these two by taking into account the orbs of the respective planets.
Depending on the nature of aspect i.e., favourable or unfavourable, in respect of (i) and (ii) above give marks proportionately.
KPDP No. 6: Pleasure and happiness after marriage
Birth star lord of the boy should occupy houses 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 in the girl’s chart and vice -versa.
KPDP No. 7: General suitability for marriage
7th cusp sign, star and sub lords of the boy should be the ruling planets of the girl at the time of birth and similarly the 7th cusp sign, star and sub lords of the girl should be the rul-ing planets of the boy at birth. The occupant of the 7th in the respective charts can be taken as a ruling planet for this purpose.
KPDP No. 8: Likelihood of marriage with this boy and girl
The ruling planets of the boy at the time of birth should be the significators for 2.7.11 for the girl and vice-versa.
KPDP No. 9: Smoothness in married life
See whether the 11th cusp sub lords in the charts of the boy and the girl are in any way connected to houses 6,8,12 in any manner, in their respective charts. If they are not con-nected full marks can be given. Otherwise marks will have to be awarded proportionately.
KPDP No. 10: Whether the period lords now operating in both charts indicate desirability of matching for marriage
i. At the time of matching if either is running ‘A’ Dasa, ‘B’ Bukthi and ‘C’ Anthara, see whether A,B,C are the ruling planets at the time of birth of the other.
ii. The planets deposited in the star of the above A, B, C will be the ruling planets at the time of birth of the other.
Either (i) or (ii) above should be there. Accordingly give marks proportionately.
After totalling the marks obtained as above, divide the same by 1000 and arrive at the over-all percentage of matching.
1. Anything above 50% score can be taken as matching. But for happy married life the overall matching percentage should cross 75% minimum.
2. These KPDP marriage matching rules, framed by Shri Kuppu Ganapathi, can be utilized in many ways, for example, if one wants to know whether A and B can become partners in a business venture. It means getting a partner to do partnership business, the compatibil-ity chart i.e. KPDP will clearly throw light on it. Similarly if there is difference of opinion be-tween a boss and his subordinate or between the owner of a company and its top executive etc.
Aspects Uncovered by KPDP Matching Rules
3. The KPDP marriage matching report covers the above mentioned ten marriage matching criteria of the horoscopes of a boy and a girl. However, this report does not cover other as-pects of marriage matching, such as longevity, education, health, child birth, career pro-spects and financial status.
4. There is no practice of Mars Dosha in KP, although the traditional criteria of Mars Dosha are explained in details in KP Reader IV, pages 51-69. And it is concluded that not Mars alone, any planet can cause such undesirable effect of disagreement, dispute, divorce etc among the couple provided they happen to be deposited in such a position of the significa-tor of 6 or 10 or 12. (ibid page 69)
5. In addition the traditional way of marriage matching for a native with Mars Dosha to marry with another one with Mars Dosha (KP Reader IV, page 68) is like adding more fire to a house which is already in fire. It does not agree with the KP principle to throw water and send when a house is in fire. (KP Reader VI, page 319)
Useful Indication of KPDP No. 10
6. The results of Kanak Bosmia’s study on 106 KPDP matching charts on 18 December 2006 are as follows:
Out of 29 marriage matching reports of “multi-marriage and divorce” cases, 25 matching reports (86.20%) with the KPDP criterion no. 10 score of “less than 50%” on the day of mar-riage had divorce.
Out of 12 marriages matching reports of “single marriage and divorce” cases, 11 matching reports (91.67%) with the KPDP criterion no. 10 score of “less than 50%” on the day of mar-riage had divorce.
Out of 65 matching reports of “single marriage” cases, 32 matching reports (49.23%) had the KPDP criterion no. 10 score of “50% and more “ on the day of marriage.
7. In combination of the results of the above study on 106 KPDP matching reports and his extensive experience of KDPD marriage matching, Kanak Bosmia’s finding is that the KPDP criterion no. 10 (Whether the period lords operating at the time of matching in both charts indicate desirability for matching for marriage) score is more important than the overall matching score, and more than 50% score of the criterion no. 10 is preferable for marriage matching in order to prevent the possibility of separation or divorce.
8. Whenever a misunderstanding or problem rises in married life, it is advisable to check how the score of the KPDP criterion no. 10 at that time is. As long as this score is “higher than 50%”, the problem may not be so serious that can be solved by mutual understanding. But this score is significantly “lower than 50%”, the problem may be serious for a possible separation or divorce.

Birth time rectification is a challenging task for any astrologer. More often than not, clients give approximate time of birth when approaching an astrologer for horoscope analysis. A competent astrologer will apply one or more birth time rectification techniques before proceeding with casting of horoscope.
Generally, no birth is recorded correctly with the particulars to Hour, minute and second. No two watches agree, the birth time is noted with the help of a wrist watch or the wall clock in Hospitals and many of them do not show correct time! Then what is the remedy? The rectification method, in K.P. System, gives you a helping hand. First of all we should know what a birth time is.
As soon as the child is separated from the mother, with the umbilical cord still connecting the two, the nose, ear, mouth of the child, are cleared by cotton, and now the umbilical cord is served, the child is denied of oxidized blood, its gets a suffocation, and the child cries for its life! The air enters its mouth, fills up the lungs with air, and the sudden it starts functioning till the end of life!! Hence, by its first cry, the child takes oxygen (Prana) and announces to the world that it is an independent soul and does not need the help of the mother anymore and can like on any goats or cow’s milk. Till the child cries, it is the part and parcel of the mother, just like any other limb of hers and now, it is an individual soul and life. This moment of getting its life, is the right time of birth of the child. How many of us are aware of this and how many of the Doctors and nurses record such correct timings! After separation from the mother, they will take five or ten minute’s child to cry. Sometimes, the child will forget to cry, and the doctors give a beating to the child and make it cry, otherwise, it will die! And how do the doctors know as to when will the child cry? And in K.P. System, even 30 or 40 seconds of difference in birth times, will give a wide difference, in their life!
When we cast a KP chart the correct birth time is necessary for accurate prediction, as the position of the sub lords cusps can vary even within in a few minutes difference. Therefore, it is quite essential that all birth time is rectified by applying K.P. method, a unique technique of rectification. Under these circumstances, if only the birth time is doubtful, especially by the consultant himself or herself, the birth time rectification is being done by the help of ruling planets at the moment when you have the urge to solve the query, then mysteriously God will help you to select the astrologically correct birth time (KP Reader III, P-281). After correcting birth time, verification is needed to confirm that the native’s life events agree with the rectified birth time.
Good luck..!!
Destiny means a set of events and experiences that are certain to happen in a particular person’s life. So most major events in our lives are predefined. For example, where and to which family we will be born, what type of job we will be doing, what incidents and life we will be experiencing, etc. are predefined.
But, for any event to manifest a certain set of actions are also required. Hence, for the manifestation of certain predefined events, the necessary actions will also have to take place. That is why certain actions are also predefined and these set of preordained actions are known as prarabdha karma. And for the actions to manifest we will need to have that kind of desire and mindset. Hence, people’s likings, nature, etc. are also acquired as per their past actions.
For example, due to a past wrong action (stopping the four Sanat kumaras from meeting Vishnu) Sishupal and Vakradanta, in their previous life as a guard in Vaikuntha (abode of Vishnu), got cursed and had to take birth as a demon, and Kamsa in his previous birth was demon Kalanemi and was cursed by Hiranyakashipu. And because they were predestined to be killed by Krishna, most of their actions were destined to be wrong and demonic in nature.
If destiny is predefined, then why do our actions affect our karma?
Indeed true.
• “If whatever I’ll do in my life is already predefined, then certainly I shouldn’t be held accountable for my actions.”
• “After all, it’s all fated, why should my actions count? Why should they affect my karma?”
Yes, these are all valid questions. But the point is, not all our actions are predefined. Only those set of actions that will give rise to predetermined events are predefined. And in our life we do both kinds of actions, predefined and not defined. Those set of actions that were not predefined are known as Kriyamana Karma (accumulating actions). It is mostly these actions that affect our karma, not the preordained ones. Generally, preordained events and actions being effects of our past life actions, once experienced, they get balanced out. But the Kriyamana karma, being newer actions that we do in this present life, gets stored to be experienced later. Let me give an example for better understanding.
Suppose you had done many good works in your previous life and for that reason you are destined to be wealthy and famous. So, if in this life, you have become an engineer or programmer, then you will feel attracted to develop software that it will become famous and earn you money. So most of your actions will be towards fulfilling that objective. You will be coding day in and day out and doing a lot of things for it. But along with that you will be doing many other actions that are in no way relevant to your destined objective. For example, you may see a person who needs some help and help him out, scold or abuse someone for no reasons other than out of anger, and many other little things you will be doing that no way contribute to your destined objective.
• So those set of minor and major actions that do not contribute to your destined experience of wealth and fame are stored to be experienced later. (kriyamana karma or agami karma)
• And those set of actions (like coding, planning etc.) that do contribute to your destined objective are generally not considered unless the sense of doership is attached to them. (prarabdha karma)
We always had been longing for a very strong thought in our minds, if our destiny is fixed and everything in our life is destined to happen then why do we need to bother much about anything. Why should be take actions?? Whatever has to happen will happen!! 🙂 But, my dear friends let me help you with a very strong quote: “I am the master of my destiny; I am the captain of my soul”.
To understand the deeper underlying concept, my dear friend, just read through the complete article, only then you will be in a condition to draw your own conclusion. And, let me tell you one thing clearly, once you understand it deeply & precisely, you will never face any fear or pain in your lifetime. Being on the planet earth, we our living in a free will zone, where everything works with individual’s freewill which is our desire/wish to take actions or to perform karma.
We take birth on the planet earth, which belongs to a specific dimension where we have our physical bodies & we follow a cycle of life & death in order to progress spiritually & to speed up the purification level of our soul so as to merge with the divine light. During our journey in the physical world (Earth), we face ourselves with Kaam (Lust), Krodh (Anger), Lobh (Greed), Moh (Ignorance) & Ahankaar (Ego) which are presented in front of us in the form of various situations. Like, we face financial crisis, disputes with family member, quarrels with any relative, misusing power etc. So, the actions (Karma) we perform helps us progress or regress in life and actions are purely the active form of thoughts. The thoughts we create, positive or negative, similar will be our actions & thence, we get similar results. Now, the thoughts are actually the utilization of our freewill.
Our soul journey is basically about the control over mind & our spiritual action. Chalo, let’s add another angle in our discussion which is astrology- our main connection..Right!! As we know that, our mind is the generator of thoughts, which are influenced by the energies from the environment & cosmos…And, the energy from cosmos is transmitted on our planet thru’ the planetary bodies in arbitration.
The planets, hence, has the power to influence our thoughts & similarly, they create impact on the thoughts of the complete mankind. Every individual process those thoughts by using their freewill into a positive or negative outcome.
Most of the times I get to hear from people when everything is predestined then what astrology or astrologer can do? There is a word ‘ Free will’ comes in between opening a small window in that fixed condition but then few people are smarter than me. They go nonstop saying “even how much freewill will be working in life that’s too is written in destiny.” So why to study astrology and what an astrologer can do?
We are here in this life due to our own past karmas. What we do in this life time plus what karmas we have left in balance from our past lifetimes, will come to shape our future life times. Oh Ya, Karma are a bitch.
So our present life is a swim across Prarabdh Karma, which is fixed and destined to happen. To make it worse we have three kinds of Karma which will ultimately tell how to deal with destiny.
Dridha Karma – Fixed Karma.
Adridha Karma – Flexible Karma.
Dridha-Adridha – Mixed Karma.
If your Prarabdh is Dridha Karma then nothing can change it. Except predicting when the heat will hit you hard or predicting part, Astrologer cant help you well much. No Astrological Remedy or gemstone can change your sufferings. So sooner you take shelter on God’s lotus feet better for you.
If your Prarabdh is Adridha Karma then Astrologer will have the full grip on your horoscope from prediction to diverting your destiny with activation of houses through good karma or significant remedial measures. You don’t have to struggle much to change your life into positivity. A good astrologer can give a full throttle to your life. Even if you don’t seek any guidance of astrologer still you can enjoy your life upto some extant cause of past life Good karma. One of the roles of astrologers is to identify the afflicting planets in the birth chart, but also to advice and prescribed methods to alleviate or counteract those negative effects or sufferings caused by those adverse planets.
If your Prarabdh is Dridha-Adridha Karma then you can swim or float well in this birth with the help of remedies, good advice, blessings of your parents, faith in goodness etc. Now it is upto your free will to decide whether to maximize the positivity of life or not.
Now that’s where the work of a good and experienced Astrologer comes who can find out from your chart whether your Prarabdh is Fixed, mixed or flexible karma so that there will be any chance of Free will or remedy to work on you or not. That’s where you can work on your free will to change the destiny. Lifelong remedial measure and change of life style can even change your balance your Fixed karma & Agmani Karma then you will start enjoying life. Once again only Astrologer after analyzing your horoscope can say which type of remedy can balance your Dridha Karma at the end.
Astrology as a Science is a map which helps understand the situations which as per the birth chart of a person, might happen & it can work as a path en-lighter & provider to help use our freewill in the most favourable spiritual manner.
Here, spiritual doesn’t mean to be priest or to sit in a temple & chant but to follow the path of righteousness. As “Destiny” is futuristic and no one on this earth has the capacity to unfold the future because of the DNA level and the atomic structure of our physical body. So, when in our present, we know our probable future situations with the divine help of astrology, so we can prepare our frame of mind accordingly & we can alter our thought process using our freewill & thence, it will change our future outcome & finally, our destiny. Destiny is uncertain not certain & everyone has the power to change it & make it as per their freewill.
Be a parent to yourself & make your own destiny.
The planets are not just physical masses of matter floating on the space. They are tremendously powerful astral energies or psychic forces which affect us in our astral body, the subtle energy and psychic field surrounding and interpenetrating our physical body.
The planetary energies create a pattern, a shape and combinations of colours in our astral body, which irradiates and attracts a similar energy towards it. The different planets contribute to the colour of the aura and that colour and vibratory wavelength is related with our thoughts, feelings, health, and the situations we attract to our life.
The remedies work by managing or changing those astral influences in our own astral body, strengthening or diminishing certain colours, frequencies or wavelengths like crating a king of protective shield.
There are several types of Upayes or remedies:
Some of them are:
1. Yoga
2. Mantras
3. Yantras
4. Yagyas and Poojas
5. Use of Gemstones
6. Changing the Name
7. Austerities and Fasts
8. Donations
1. Yoga
The most important Upaye or way we can purify and enlighten our astral body is Yoga. Please don’t understand here the word Yoga as just a form of physical exercise, as it is commonly understood in the west.
Even though the physical practices or asanas are a very important part of it and they themselves can bring important changes in the astral body and the mind, Yoga also includes a discipline of the mind, emotions, subtle energies, actions, behaviour, the practice of meditation and most important, a total surrender to God.
All these teachings and techniques are based on the developing of self-discipline of the mind and emotions to bring them from a gross level into a tune with Divine mind and “Dharma” or cosmic order.
2. Mantras
Mantras are sounds which create positive energy. They are the most powerful remedy for any problem. Anything can be done using mantras. It is said that Sage Viswaamitra using his mantra power, had created another Universe similar to the one we are living in. Such is the power of mantras. When an Astrologer finds out that a particular planet is the cause for the problems of a person, he can prescribe an appropriate mantra for the deity of that planet. For example, when Saturn is in a bad position causing ill health to a person, then the Astrologer prescribes Mrityunjaya mantra.
Reciting mantras is very difficult since there are many restrictions to be observed. In that case reciting stotras (Sanskrit verses) will be easier and effective. For example, regular recitation of astottarams (108 names) or sahasrams (1000 names) of a particular god will help to alleviate problems related to a particular planet.
Recitation of ancient scriptures will also help us to come out of many problems. For example, we have seen in our experience that many couples who were denied progeny were blessed with children after recitation of 16th Sarga of Baalakanda in the Sanskrit epic: Raamaayan.
3. Yantras
Yantras play significant role in the meditative practice as described in our classics. According to Sanskrit Dictionary Vachaspatyam “Yantram” is an instrument or instruments for holding or restraining which may be used to denote a variety of linear diagrams. It is a geometric design acting as a highly efficient tool for contemplation, concentration and meditation. Yantras often focus on a specific deity and so by tuning into the different Yantras one can interact with certain deities or creative force centres in the universe, according to our classics.
Yantras are sacred symbols which are written on a copper plate. They are either worn on the body or installed in a house. For example, when a resident is facing problems due to bad Vaastu in his house, an Astrologer can ask him to install a Mastya Yantra.
4. Yagyas and Poojas
Yagyas and Poojas are traditional forms of Vedic worship to specific Deities or planets. This method of astrological remedy is emphasized on the classical Jyotish scriptures.
God is the ultimate controller of the planets and dispenser of karma, and everything is possible under his/her grace. There is very advance knowledge in the Vedic tradition about how to invoke a specific Deity or one of the manifestations or powers of God through the proper ritual and mantras.
By this act, the Deity representing the planet is invoked, invited to come and is served by offerings of a special seat, foods, flowers, clothing, water, milk, ornaments, jewels, light, fire, incense and other scared objects. There are specific powerful mantras in the form of Vedic hymns for invoking those energies.
The sincerity of the worshipper in wanting to purify his mind and ego is very important. The Pooja is a simpler ritual that any person with a little training and sincere intention can do, whereas the Yagyas are more sophisticated and elaborate rituals which should be conducted by a traditional Vedic priest, who does the offerings and rituals in the name of the worshipper.
5. Gemstones
Gems radiated and effected by planets and stars in our solar systems are used in close connection to each planet’s content and habits. Naturally, being direct conductors of cosmic energy, they work as a receiver and transmit their energies directly into our body.
Gems are the gifts of the mineral kingdom with their own transmittable consciousness, imbued when in contact with our skin. And thus was formed the perfect matrices between the earth, planets and mankind, perfectly synthesized to advance us their positive influences through their effulgent rays.
Each gem absorbs only one type of energy related to a particular planet. So, by wearing a gem, we are increasing energy of that planet. For example, in a horoscope if Jupiter is found in a good position, then we should wear a Yellow Sapphire in a gold ring to the right hand’s index finger. In this way, Jupiter’s energy is increased thus it causes maximum benefit to the native.
6. Changing the name
When a person is dying with ill health and nothing worked out, then the ancient Egyptians and Romans used to change the name of the person. In many cases, this technique used to give fruitful results. By changing the name of the person, we are escaping the bad karma done in the previous births that we imbibed into this birth through our name. Changing the name or changing the spelling of the name according to Numerology will do miracles in acquiring health and wealth.
7. Austerities and Fasts
One way of astrological remedy is to do certain form of austerities. Austerities or “Tapas” is a form of accepting voluntarily penance or self-restraint, in order to pay a karmic debt. Tapas strengthen the mind, will power and capacity to endure any difficulty in life. It takes the mind away from the duality of “likes and dislikes”, Raga and Dwesha.
Tapas activates the “Tejas” or fire element in the mind and body, which bestows inner strength, sharp mind and the capacity to achieve any desired situation and overcome any difficulty in life. Instead of trying to avoid any form of pain at all means, which is what the mind usually does, the Yogi takes upon himself some challenge to become stronger.
Tapas can be especially powerful to counteract any negative influence from Saturn or to strength the Mars or Sun energies if weak on birth chart.
Fasting is regarded as an efficient way of physical, mental, spiritual and karmic purification. During fasting the toxins from the body are released and that allows the negativity of the mind to be released too. The mind and will power becomes strong. Karmic debts can be purified too.
The prana or vital force usually occupied in digesting the food can be engaged in healing the body and flowing to the higher chakras during fasting. When there is an afflicting planet on the birth chart or during a difficult “Dasa”, planetary period or difficult transit of that planet, the austerities and fast should be perform on at least the whole day of the week ruled by the planet for at least 8 consecutive weeks.
8. Donations
When a planet creates an affliction on the chart, one way to counteract it is by offerings or donations of items related to the planet, to a person related to the planet on the day of the week ruled by that planet.
There are many factors to be considered in each individual chart for that, but just to give a couple of examples:
For Saturn: Donate food, money or new black clothes or black mustard seeds to the poor, sick or handicapped people.
For Jupiter: Donate money and do personal service to the Guru or a spiritual teacher, a priest, monk or a spiritual or religious organization. Do it every Thursday.
Finally, only Devotion and total surrender to God, removal of the ignorance of Ego and realization of the self as Atman can be the real remedy for any karmic suffering.
Good Luck..!!
Principles of wearing Gemstones:
The gemstones are very powerful medium and their effects can be magical as well as very rapid. But this is only possible when these are properly prescribed and are worn by the user in a prescribed manner. Although one can study and learn the use of gemstones from any book or text, but in practice a qualified person should only prescribe the gemstones. Any gemstone when prescribed for a native enhances positively certain aspects of the life but simultaneously gives negatives effect on other areas of life also. To understand these pros and cons of any gemstones, one should have proficiency in astrology in addition to the knowledge of the gems and their effects. Only when positive influence of gem outweighs the negative influence of the gem, it is prescribed.
Sometimes, dynamic prescription of the gems is also done. This system of prescribing gems involves continuous monitoring of the transits of various planets for the native and the changes in Dasas and Antardasas of various planets. This is a complicated system and is actually beyond the understanding of persons who are not qualified in astrology. But there are many instances, where it has worked very well for natives over very long periods of time.
Gemstones are worn after prescription. There are means of testing of gemstones before these are prescribed for prolonged use. Also it is very important to know, where it is most beneficial to wear the gemstone. Gemstones work on the usage of their inherent power of transferring energy after filtering. This means that the size and weight of the gemstones are also very important.
Science Behind the effect of Gemstones:
The gemstones work for the betterment of one’s life is a known fact. However, many people do not believe in their effects. These day people, especially the younger generation, look for scientific links between the gems and their effects. All astrological reasoning fails to impress them to accept the benefits of the gemstones.
There are laws in pure science which have not been proved but are accepted as their effects are observed by us day in and day out and they are called laws conversely also as they have not been proved otherwise. The simplest example being Law of Gravitation. It is a law because it is observed daily by us and also it has not been proved through experiment to be not true.
Similarly, the effects of the gemstones are observed by those who use them under proper guidance. Since the effects are very subjective and individual in nature, they are not in the scrutiny of public and people at large do not believe in their beneficial values.
Moreover, the effects of gemstones have been proved conversely also. If a person is prescribed a wrong gemstone, it has been observed to adversely affect him as long as he wears it and the effect goes away once the stone is removed. Thus, the efficacy of gemstones does not require laboratory experiments just the way some of the pure science laws do not require experiment in their support.
Among all the elements in nature, GEMSTONES constitute the purest, most potent and concentrated form of colour, and therefore gems naturally resonate harmoniously with the energies emanated from their associated planets.
Astrological working of Gemstones:
In astrology the gemstones are prescribed for remedial measures. Sometimes we find that a particular planet in chart is weak and due to this the person is experiencing problems. The corresponding gemstone is then prescribed and we observe that beneficial effects are observed.
There is another very important area of gemstone prescription, which requires certain facts to be enunciated clearly. Classical astrologers have been using certain thumb rules of prescribing the appropriate weight of the gems. These astrologers rely upon the knowledge passed down to them from their teachers and they use it very effectively also. But even these prescriptions were devised on some principles. Many of these have been lost. Some of the prescriptions are empirical and are absolutely reliable and accurate.
Gemstones prosperity and wealth:
Gemstones have been used for wealth for ages. In many cases, they have proved immensely beneficial and they excite certain yogas lying dormant for the native. Innumerable instances have been noticed where gemstones have resulted in a deluge of wealth for the native. But for this the astrologer must be highly proficient. The effects of a gemstone are both positive and negative. A particular gemstone can be very useful for wealth in a case, but may help maraka propensities. Such gemstones cannot be prescribed. All such aspect has to be taken into consideration before prescribing any gemstone. Many times a yoga (which is formed by more than one planet) is excited using a combination of gemstones. This, is done after proper assessment combination gemstone have been known to override even the evil effects of dasa periods other factors are favourable.
